Tech founders don’t want to work with marketing agencies.

That’s why we’re redefining how marketers work with startups to alleviate these common pain points of working with agencies and consultants:

The proposal process is often long and drawn out before you even get a good idea on budget and expected investment. It’s often a waste of everyone’s time.

INSTEAD: I can draw up a proposal (with pricing and time expectations) for you after a single 30-minute call (usually same day!) and the proposal is always flexible to changing needs.

The time between creating a plan, executing, and then measuring results is too long for agile organizations.

INSTEAD: Fail fast and iterate. Yes, marketing efforts need time to prove effectiveness, but I’ll always be on the lookout for red flags in performance and make changes as soon as I can. I’m always measuring performance to make sure I’m not wasting your time or money!

The upfront cost is often extremely high to accomodate strategic work and brand assessments.

INSTEAD: I work fast. I will come up with a plan of action for you within 1 business day and won’t waste your time with upfront branding or strategic overhauls. Your marketing plan will be focused on your specific business goals.

Agencies are inflexible in their established process and often limit opportunities for feedback.

INSTEAD: I understand that priorities often change in a startup environment, and I’m ready and willing to pivot our efforts to best suit your business needs.

Progress updates are infrequent and limited to scheduled check-ins. Updates on budget spent are limited to monthly invoices, after it’s too late to make adjustments.

INSTEAD: I set weekly check-ins (at minimum) so you’re always up to date on the state of the project. And yes, these check-ins will include hours spent so you know exactly where your money is going. We can schedule video calls for these check-ins, or I can provide you with email updates: whatever works best for YOU. And I will always inform you in advance if I anticipate an increase in hours needed for your project.

My Agile Approach

I got my start working in marketing for a small organization that adopted agile methodologies into their engineering workflow early on. I was able to spearhead the effort to adapt our marketing techniques to work into the same sprint-based planning efforts that the rest of our teams operated in. I take that methodology into my consulting work now because I know how valuable it can be to a small startup to figure out what works - and doesn’t work - quickly and iterate from there.

Initial Plan

Within 1 day of our initial consultation call, I will send you a project plan designed to help you reach your specific marketing objectives. This plan will include estimated hours and budget information, as well as the core marketing tactics. No long waits for a formal proposal and no ambiguity about your investment.

Flexible Proposal

I don’t make formal proposals because I want our relationship to be flexible and ready to change as we progress through the project. I know that priorities can change quickly and often in a startup environment and I am ready to support you and your business through that.

Quick Start

We can get started on a project within 1-2 business days of our initial consultation call. With limited overhead and an ambitious work ethic, I’m ready to get to work on behalf of you as soon as possible. If you’re running a startup environment, you need the work done effectively and fast, and that’s what I aim to provide.

Consistent Check-Ins & Iterations

We’ll meet weekly (at minimum) to make sure you always understand where your project stands and how things are going. This also helps me understand your goals and potential changing priorities so we can make sure your investment is going towards the most valuable actions for you.
